I have the same one from Costco a long while ago, and use as a mostly-indoor but once in a while outdoor cover. It doesn't get left out in the rain since there generally isn't any. I wash it on the car (per the instructions) a couple times a year, with no noticeable deterioration from washing. I do pull it off and stretch it on a couple temp clotheslines to dry. When the car first came to me and I needed park it outside for its first month, I topped the cloth cover with a reflective waterproof tarp of the "heavy duty" silver Harbor-Freight variety. I had a similar arrangement protecting the outside-stored boats at the time, with heavy Sunbrella overcovers and the tarp protecting them. Boats aren't quite as sensitive to 'trapped' water, and I put a few of those foam pool noodle toys in between to maintain ventilation channels.

I bought the same type cover in SUV-size from Costco, and use it when one of the other cars has to sit out more than a day. It's primarily for sun protection. The smaller one on the 928 has a couple quick-release straps that fasten across under the front and rear to secure it in place. The bigger SUV-sized one needs them in a really stiff wind, otherwise the cable and lock in the middle bottom are enough. I add a couple spring clamps middle front and rear if it's going to be at all windy.

Really, the only good all-season cover is a garage or at least a carport with side sun shields. You can find "portable" garages that would do in a pinch so long as wind- and snow-loading aren't too great. Outside, I really don't care for covers rubbing on the paint in the wind. I think even if I had to do a little cutting and fitting with conduit or EMT, I'd do that before I tried to find the combination of covers that would protect a car for an extended period. There are online sources for cheap canopy fittings, and a little creativity with them and the conduit bender would have me a serviceable 928-sized mini-garage for a lot less than the cost of a couple premium car covers.
