Default WTB: inner console trim 78-79

Hello

Looking for an uncut inner console trim for my 79 as I am returning to an original radio.

I may also be interested in a central indicator as well as the little corners were removed from mine for radio install. I have a nice 80 unit which will work buy it's technically not correct.

All help appreciated. Thanks.

I had a nice 80 that I was going to modify but another member needed it so I passed it on to a good home. I can graft two together but I really want the right look

I have one without the extra two holes, from an early car. Only one round hole for the clock. I can post pictures if needed.

Guy and Rog,

Wouldn't the actual console piece that bolts to the dash also be needed too? If you search "Radio cut out in centre console" ( I wish I know how to get this site to show the url so I could just copy and paste the url) you'll see a pic of mine. My understanding is that I'd have to get a whole new piece (the cork piece) in order to put back the original radio. Is there another way (wishful thinking on my part)?

Doug

I believe there is another way. I have a metal bracket that came from an 80. It is perfectly formed to be able to mount a two shaft radio in the larger opening. I may have a second one. I will hunt for it. This is pictured in my previous post titled "early radio details". We are still trying to figure out if there is a part number to this bracket. Will keep you posted. Hope this helps

Hi Guy,

That would be great, thanks! Please document how you install the bracket. It's not clear to me how it will work. For the black piece of material that originally had a smaller hole for the smaller radio (the piece that also holds the "!" light above the radio, that the installer cut to make larger to accommodate the bigger radio, is your plan to get a similar piece of material to put back in there on top of the steel bracket?

Oh yeah, I'll call thirdsies on the piece above if a third one becomes available (or if Guy and Rog pass; yeah right!)
