Doug,
I will document it for you and send you a PM at weeks end. I will also add it to the early radio details post.
My central indicator was trimmed as well. I have one from an 80 installed as it was unmodified. Fits and functions but is technically not correct.
The bracket uses the screw holes under the indicator and affixes next to the hazard and indicator switch. There is also a bracket to the rear of the radio opening to support the back of the radio as well.
