Hey Malcolm.
Maybe we can get some of the NorCal guys to escort you down to Half Moon Bay
from SF as there is a great brew pub at Princeton By The Sea. As a fellow scot I will consider buying you a pint.
Jeff, any of you NorCal guys out there want to consider an outing?

Rumor is that there's some sort of massive microbrewery festival in Bend or nearby. I'm not allowed to drink much anymore after the episode with the chearleaders and the donkey painted to look like a zebra, but I can do DD duty if we can line up the dates. Crater Lake loop is sometimes open by Memorial Day for touring.

Check the dates.. The Porsche Parade is in Monterey this year, and is also in June... 1.25 hr south of SF....

As you'll be all the way down, it might be worth driving a few extra miles...

Hi Malcolm:

June is a bit far out. If you contact me around 3 weeks before coming to the area, I'll know better. I'd love to meet you over dinner or - if it's a weekend, I could give you a tour of the city (look in rennlist OT for the sights I usually cover).

Sorry, if this is a bit of a hijack, but this reminds me of a funny story - well at least funny to me.

I had a client in Reading, PA, who wanted me to come on-site. Shopping for a hotel, I found some motel style places on the outskirts of town, and the Lincoln Hotel by Wyndham. Since it was located in the town center, I thought it might be more interesting to stay there... Little did I know.

That place looked and felt as if Mr. Lincoln actually stayed there, and they had not renovated since. It was outdated and run-down, probably the worst place I stayed-at during all my business travels. When she heard that I stayed there, my client had to laugh; then she directed me to the best restaurant in town to make-up for it. Two weeks after I left, they announced a multimillion Dollar renovation project...

Well, at least I can cross a visit to Reading, PA, off my bucket list.

For those who didn't pay attention a decade or two ago, there was a bit of a scandal at the Clinton White House when it was revealed that high-$$ political supporters were getting overnights in the Lincoln Bedroom as rewards. So my reference is a little dated, but only five or six or seven presidential terms ago.

I'm guessing that it wasn't as 'vintage' as Nicole's Lincoln Hotel adventure in Pa.

Just a tip - the locals will know you are hip if you instead refer to it as 'Frisco.
