Default Cam gear for a S4

Does anyone have a pictures or illustration of how the CAM gear is installed on the camshaft on the PS?

This would include the housing, sensor and brass guards on the backside.

I believe i could guess , but would rather see an example.

thanks jpc

Search is your best friend:

This is what you don't want it to look like, but it shows the Hall sensor shield on the nose of the cam. Only fits one way.

Search here is so crappy, doesn't anyone else find this? They should just get Google custom search.

Funny you should mention it- I have spent (blown? wasted? ) enough time on RL over the past 10 years that I have a pretty good sense of what's in the archives and whether there's a good pic of something. But when it comes to actually finding those particular pictures, these days I can usually find a relevant image using keywords in a Google images search, whose results contain the URL of the relevant thread.

So if I'm IB, why do I invest any money in the search function when Google Images works better, with no effort on my part?

IB is too busy paying the moderators to worry about the important part, like fixing the search option or allowing unlimited picture posting for non member that want to make the effort to do technical write ups.

This is something that bugs me lately - having to shrink down pictures to crappy small sizes to embed them in posts.

Sure I could use photobucket or some other similar service - but if you look through the posts from 7 years ago, a lot of the pictures that were posted using photobucket or similar services are gone. People change/cancel/delete/reorganize their picture hosting and it vanishes from the rennlist posts, probably without them even thinking about it.

The only long-term reliable way to keep pictures with posts seems to be to add them as attachments here - based on which old posts still have picture content. So why IB still has a crappy tiny file size limit is beyond me, especially when multi-terrabyte storage is cheap these days!

^^^I've tried to explain this several times in the last year and was called all kinds of names. The only way RL can protect the content is by owning the images. The other issue is limiting non member total image size. Normally around 10-15 pics. I can see the reason behind this 10 years ago when data storage wasn't cheap but now days it is cheap. The benefit of limiting non menbers by not allowing unlimited picture posts works against RL. I and many other that used to create technical write ups can't anymore if they want to have the images stored on RL. Old threads are full of red Xs where offsite storage files were moved/deleted. Those technical threads are almost useless now. What a waste!

I remember reading a Pelican forum thread on Rennlist, and them doing the math about how much money IB makes vs how much (or how little) it costs to run it.

I put that in the google search toolbar, followed by whatever I want to search for.

It works much better than using the search function.
