Default Upper column bearing install

82
I received bearing part number 928-347-00-m100
Seems like the bearing is the same size as the inner shaft is this correct part? It is hard to line up and would take a great deal of hammering to get it in.
What is the best way to install it with out damaging the new bearing?
Thanks

sounds like you need to pull off the inner collar thats still on the shaft.

NOTE the bearing goes past the tip of the shaft then seats on the housing.

The inner collar is then placed onto the shaft,
then the nut ,
then attach a pair of vice grips to the nut and pull to the rear of the car,
then fit the E clip this will tension the collar onto the inner seat of the bearing

the collar may have been squeezed ,
you can tap it onto the shaft you may need a helper to hold the shaft up,
and then tap the collar into place so the E clip will fit
