Down the power steering shaft seal rabbit hole
#16
While are down this rabbit hole, can we talk about shaft clearance on the pump body? It seems like its just steel on aluminum if I recall. I have several pumps I wanted to see if they are usable. This clearance varies. I have measured it only so far as if they were valves in a guide. Side to Side movement. It varies widely.

Since we're down the wabbit hole, searching for "simmerringe” or "wellendichtringe" with the specific dimensions will lead you to several manufacturers.

Mark, please put one (1) seal kit on the Recaro chair in the will-call area. Will be there at 4PM. Thanks.

i can't remember what she was going on about.
Rob, why lose the electric pump? I am guessing to make t more a road car
in terms of the interior.
I don't miss my power steering at all.

Losing the electric pump so I can mount a passenger seat for instructoring purposes.
Though I re-installed the cooling loop last night, and had to mod the oil cooler mounts to get it to fit with the cooler (though it's still tight), and it's beginning to be a a PITA. Perhaps just lengthening the hoses on the electric pump and putting it in the rear passenger seat base (and getting a mini-battery) would be a better all-round solution.
Down the rabbit hole indeed....
