West Coast Bound!!
Well, the adventure continues. I accepted a job in Palmdale Ca. and will be relocating next month!
It's been just over 4 years that I landed in southern Maryland and was able to attend SITM and Frenzy It's been great enjoying the boat on the Chesapeake Bay and meeting everyone out here.
Time to head west and join in on the events and see some old friends Have to admit it will be good to get back although this will be the first time living in Cali. Las Vegas was as close as I got and will be a quick 2.5 hrs away!
Looking forward to seeing the sights and enjoying the sunshine!!

Turns out that Palmdale is a short commute from civilization (such as it is...). The daily romp opposite normal traffic flow won't be bad at all.
Getting the 928 smogged here will certainly be a challenge. Still own that home in New Mexico? That's still the official legal home of the 928, right? Getting on-base stickers for it? There's hope!
Weather today will barely break into the 70's, a cooling trend. We kept things a little warmer for the holidays and the BCS game, now it's time to get back to normal winter temps with highs barely into the high 60's some days. It does freeze in the high desert areas like Palmdale, and there's always one or two days with snow up there. The half-hour drive south and west to the northeast end of the San Fernando valley gets you out of that nasty winter weather.
There's winter skiing less than an hour from Palmdale, if you need a dose of 'real' winter. The ocean is about the same distance the other way. I have first-hand experience that it's easily possible to surf in the morning and ski all afternoon and evening the same day.
In other news, seven bazillion of your new closest friends are leading the way for you virtually anywhere you want to drive in the L.A. basin.
Welcome to southern California!

Ugh - Palmdale!
I lived in Lancaster and worked in Palmdale for Rockwell on the B-1B program for 3+ years. I couldn't wait to get outta there. Maybe it's gotten better since the late 80s?
Best of luck, D!
And, yeah - we do get tuna.

Other options: This is a full move package, so cars go in the transporter and the passengers get on a plane. Unless you want to make it an adventure, let the well-insured movers do the moving. You are there for the loading, here for the unloading.

I will see you when we get there in April! I'm looking forward to the move, even if i have to leave all my fun guns and CCW at the border.
Wifes home of record (military) is Washington sate, so i just registered the car in her name also in WA.. BAM. no smog test.. lol
we are doing the Full move as well. let the movers take the stuff. might ship the shark, not sure yet.

Darien, sorry to see you go and not getting the chance to get down and spend time with you in MD. Good luck with the new job. I'll try to get by Steve's one day and see if I can get you a valve body from him! Don't be a stranger at Frenzy or SITM, fly in with Tony.
