Thank you for the reply on the VIN
Help me out here, according to your vin report it states the car is red? The car is Diamond pearl blue and I cannot find indication that
the car has ever been painted. Do you have any opinion on this?
thank you.

Hi Charles-
The only place 'Red' is mentioned is referring to the shock absorbers, which were painted red to identify them as Boge sport shocks. I don't have any exterior paint color information for this car.

At the very least there are about 70 cars that have the XD9 option for body-colored wheels and center caps. However, that option was only used between 1990 and 1995 (It's listed in the 1991 Exclusive catalog). Almost certainly there were body-colored wheels early in the Sonderwunsch listings that are defined by particular Z option codes but I don't know what they are. If you know the VINs of other cars with body-colored wheels I'd love to know them.
I've found a Chiffon White '81 928 with what's said to be factory-painted body-coloured wheels. The VIN is said to be: WP0JA0925BS820734
Could you please see if this car has any Z-order production codes against it? If it does, I wonder if any of them match the ones attached to my car.
Many thanks Rob.

I've located these 3 VINs from 928s with what appear to be factory-painted body-coloured wheels:
9289201771 (1979)
WP0JA0925BS820734 (1981)
WP0JA0923CS822628 (1982)
Do any of these show any Z-Order production codes?
Thanks again Rob.

Hi Peter-
At least in terms of being recorded on a build sheet as a Z-order, the earliest car I know of with a Z-option listed was early '84 production, built in October 1983. So if any of those three had custom options from the factory, they weren't listed as such, and perhaps only Porsche Classic would know about it (and I doubt it would make it onto a Technical Certificate/PPS).

The only other car I've so far found with what appear to be factory-painted wheels is this Chiffon White 928S. The VIN was just sent to me. I think it's an '84 build:

Fingers crossed it has a Z-Order production code showing.
Thanks for all of your help Rob.
