Thank you!!!! Do you happen to know if there is a way to check production numbers. I am wondering how rare the 86 is with the odd options.

Well, you have a 1986.5 5-speed. There were 1919 of them. 506 of them were 5-speeds. 240 had the limited slip diff. 38 had sport seats. 16 did NOT have rubstrips. 4 of those had heated seats, and only 2 of those are Canadian market cars. Yours has the extended hub steering wheel, the other does not. So yours is 1 of 1. Very desirable combination of options on an 86.5. Cool.

Wow that is pretty amazing data you have, and you are an amazing fellow! Thank you. I really mean it!

The 86.5 is a great car with 63K miles, and the 85 was Boost Logic's program car (turbocharged and very fast).

Both are kind of iconic "unique" early specimens, I'm thinking about selling them... not sure.

Curious RE: what color this car is- Black, by any chance? I'm confused by the spoiler being both body color AND matte black.

I have an X in position 9 for that VIN:

WP0JA092XBS821216
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=WP0JA092XBS821216

1981 5-speed Competition group
C02 - 49 state US market
000000 - No engine code but should be M28.15 engine serial # range 811 0001 >5000
G00000 - No trans code but should be G28.05 transmission serial # range 11 10001>19999

I126 - Blaupunkt Bamberg QTS Cassette radio 7 639 545 110 (digital) with ARI (Autofahrer-Rundfunk-Informationssystem)
M197 - Stronger battery (88 Ah)- Norway, Finland, Denmark, Canada, Sweden
M220 - Limited Slip Differential, 40%
M261 - Outside mirror - plain-Passenger's side, electrically adjustable and heatable
M418 - Protective side mouldings
I423 - Cassette container and coin box
I471 - Integrated rear spoiler (Competition Group option or Sport group 1 ) I have a note that says: 16" manholes, rear spoiler, front air dam, bilstein shocks, manual sport seats, 3 spoke steering wheel, no rubstrips- See December 1980 Car&Driver. But this car has rubstrips.....) Still some controversy RE: what the Competition group actually included....)

M533 - Alarm
M568 - Tinted windshield and side glass
