This is a very early 1980 Euro S- I don't actually have any options info for it, as it was one of a few that was missing from the PET database. But I do have the following:

92A0820034

1980 Euro S

No engine code but should be either M28.11 or M28.12, engine serial # range 820 0001>1000 or engine serial # range 820 5001 >6000
Don't know whether it's 5-speed or auto
Invoice date 11/7/79
Paint code: J4 - Hellblau (Light blue) metallic
Production # 1200555
Interior code BR- Partial leather brown seats with leather seatbacks and brown/beige tartan inserts, and brown carpet

FWIW, it's possible that there _were_ no options given the tartan cloth seats and this is one of the 1980 'stripper' low/no option cars. I'd be interested to hear whether it has AC, 1 or two mirrors, sunroof, etc.

Thanks for the super quick reply! If I'm correct, this is #34 for 1980?

The car is a 5 speed. It does have A/C. 2 mirrors. Non sun roof car. Any other options I should check for?

Thanks again!

If it's a 5-speed, that early in the year it should have a G28.03 transmission. If you have a chance to look at the serial number on the rear bottom of the transaxle case, it would be cool if you can confirm. (And see if there's a '/12' as part of the serial number - if there is, then you have a limited slip transmission.)

It is a G28.05. Attached is a photo of the trans.

That's a very helpful data point, thanks! That's the 15th of the G28.05 transmissions produced, and there are exactly 14 '80 Euro S 5-speeds prior to your VIN, so now I'm wondering whether all the '80 EUro Ss got the G28.05? As the scientists say, need more data.

That would certainly seem plausible! If there are any other differences on the car you'd like me to look for, I'd be glad to contribute to the data!
