Thanks for the info Rob!
Now the car has sports seats and front/rear spoilers. It is either competition package (which I thought only available as an option in '81 or '82) or a dealer add on. Would these show up on PET?

thanks-Hoi

You have one too many letters in the VIN (A) and I suspect the 5 is actually a 6.

^^^ VINs for 82 Cali and US should be in the CS82XXXX range ... and for 83's are in the DS86XXXX range. What is your engine number? M28.15 for an 82 manual ... M28.19 for an 83 manual. I can't be certain on the end of production year (which is not December) but 09/82 production date could swing it into MY83.

I don't have engine number, I haven't seen the car in person, yet. Here's a pic of the VIN, those are 8s not 3s i think. Car is rubinrot metallic too which I thought came later...something weird about this one I think. I'll try one more time on this VIN

WPOJB0925DS860098 ...right?

WPOJB0925DS860098 ...right?
That looks right to me.

DS makes it an 83 ... no doubt about that. 9/82 production puts it into MY 83 category, as it's rolled into the 83 production year.

Rubinrot is a common 83 colour.

It's clearly 925 ... and the first digit of the serial number has to be an 8 to fit with the DS and it being a US car.

Therefore the VIN sticker 8's and 3's have confused you, and what Rob posted is the only other alternative.

VIN from another location on the car would prove it.
