Ok, now stereo sounds good. I wanted to put the Cd changer on my car, but I discovered there are no instructions in my manuals. I'd like to put the cd changer in the right position but I have no pictures or references. Can someone help me?

Usual method seems to be to put in into trunk above fuel tank. Many times drilling through tank plastic.

This CD changer is definitely factory as it shows in the options for the car. Here's the thread discussing it ... https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...-for-sale.html

drilling throuth plastic tank is useful if your gauge sender is faulty, I will take a box full of matches near spare wheel ,if this happens....ahahahahahah.....
Thank you never thought to receive quick replies and thatI have to install the cd changer on the mat...it looks like that.

Quick update - the caps for the first mod arrived from PE. I've just placed an order for a calibrated microphone from there too, so I'll hold off doing any modding until the mic arrives and I can get a base measurement. Learning new stuff FTW!

Thats factory all right. There is also CD changer lining in usual period interior colors to cover up the changer.

Just a minor update - I ended up buying this USB microphone - Dayton UMM-6. It worked out cheap, and comes with a calibration file specifically measured against my unit.

Haven't unpacked it yet, but will do so and figure out how to take some measurements in a few weekends.

I'm wondering if I can get any meaningful measurements with just a pair of factory 4" mid and tweeter on my desk, maybe installed in an upright sheet of MDF? Sounds much easier than repeatedly taking apart the door panel! (I can use a spare car stereo powered off a regulated DC supply to drive them).
