remember the sending unit has TWO parts......one is the gauge, the other is the sub 1 bad warning light....I have seen "dead" sending units (pegged 5 bar) still have a working warning light!

Hi, just got my engine running again after doing TB / WP/ all gears and tensioner. Also replaced the engine wiring harness with a new one purchased from 928 Motorsports. Had a problem with it revving at 3k when first started and it was suggested to check the ISV which I did remove and clean but think my problem was a huge vacuum leak.
Problem now is my oil light is flicking on and off intermittingly. The oil pressure gauge is pegged at 5 bar but I haven't run it long enough to be at operating temp. It concerns me that it is pegged at 5 while idling and the light is flicking on. I have new oil and filter and oil is at correct level. The top end clattered a bit for the first few minutes but is now quiet.
It is too late to check the wiring but I am sure I double checked all the connections when I had initial starting problems. Also should mention took the oil pump apart and put in new seals. Spun freely when put back together.
Is it a problem if the wires are swapped? Do I need to remove the sensor and clean? Do I need a new sensor?
Haven't driven this car for 9 months and it is #$@$ing killing me not driving it for so long.
Thanks for the help.

Snapped one of the studs swapping the wires over so this is a bigger job than I started with. Also wouldn't start tonight so still an intermittent issue. Recharging battery and try tomorrow and hope Roger hasn't shipped my last order yet!

Bogdann,
Sorry to hear about your troubles.
You stated you hoped that Roger hasn't shipped your last order. Just as a FYI, there is no such thing as a last order.
