^^^^^^^^^^

Nice looking car but yet another ad by the clueless.

Clearly an auto but says GT.

No mention of big ticket maintenance items and most of what is mentioned (18” wheels, K&N, full window tint, keyless entry) are deducts in my mind.

Fresh oil change, I guess that’s worth something.

Seems a bit high but maybe not, too much pending to know.

YMMV

I think you'll either have to get lucky or really search to get a nice, well cared for '91 with <50k miles for under $20k. I'd think more typically starting in the low $20s, with the price going up as the mileage goes down. If you do find one, jump on it. And what ever you end up with, please make sure to share your good news with us, we'd love to see it. Good Luck in your treasure hunt!

Thanks for the encouragement. I had agreed to buy one at $20k, but was going to spend $5k with Greg immediately. The budget is only limited by what I think is sensible.

Also missing cowl cover and 14 pin cover (jump post cap is there).

Neither are major items, but they are indicative of an overall lack of proper knowledge and care.

Thanks for the link. The interior colour is a deal breaker for me and the mileage is a little high, but it does look otherwise good. It'll be interesting to see the price it reaches, as over $20k seems high without a lot of detailed records and recent timing belt etc.

I'll have to think some more about that - it would certainly make the search a little easier. Nicole did go over some of the differences with me.

What do you like so much better about the GTS? I've had fast cars before, so the 928 is going to be a step down in performance, but I don't really have anywhere to really use it either. I'm after a true GT with personality that makes me smile when driving to work.

Not sure I would call them "VIRTUALLY identical". Or, as a boy in my neighborhood used to say: "Exactly the same... just a little different."

The 90 models do not have:

- Increased power steering assist with lighter pump and different steering rack
- Revised parking brake handle (less likely to get caught up in it with clothes)
- Re circulation function of the HVAC
- Improved sound insulation (-3 dB)
- Touch sensitive rear wheel well liners on both sides (crumble on touch)
- Improved door seals (early 1991 models don't have this, either)
- Improved rubber seal on the A-Pillar (early 1991 models don't have this, either)
- Deleted vents for engine compartment
- Classic grey interior option

Not a 91, but an attractive low mileage S4 in the desired color combo:

Compared to other cars on the road, it's an awesome, timeless gt like all 928's. But compared to other 928's it's an oil eater that has an overblown reputation. If I were looking for a late body style, I would put the GT on the top of my list. But any late model car in good shape with the right trans is a candidate for you. It's all about condition. You could buy an earlier model and go with a stroker, paint, and other updates, spend less and have a much nicer ride than a full priced GTS.

The fewer restraints you put on your search, the sooner you find what you want. A GTS is going to cost more, but it always will have more value, and the more valuable cars tend to get better care.

I'm after a low mileage (<50k, preferably ~30k miles) '91 928S4. I don't mind some deferred maintenance, but interior and exterior condition are key. Just about any exterior colour except white. I want a black dashboard with either black (preferred) or tan leather. I'd prefer original throughout.

I was going to pay $20k, but will pay more if it's justified. Will consider cars across the US.

Thanks,

Roger
Here is your justification:

Better jump on this because it won't be for sale for long.02 T

Before some one grabs and puts it on ebay for more money.
