So my wipers haven't worked on the '84 since I purchased it (3 weeks now). Not a HUGE deal because the car lives in the garage and only comes out on perfect days; however, fixing them was still on my to-do list. I haven't had the chance to take it apart yet, but I sprayed some WD40 in the area to start getting nuts loose in preparation.

Today, I put the Shark into her first show. She was remarkably well received! I had lots of questions and interest. On the way home I was rowing through the gears. While in the power band I jabbed the throttle and THE WIPERS CAME ON!! Now, they were only at one speed, but, I was elated to see that -- it seemed like they broke free from not being used in a long time.

I'm sure it sounds strange but that just made my day and thought I'd share.

It's amazing what starts to work when the car is used. Sometimes the wipers just need a bump and they will start right up. Same with windows, sunroof and the starter motor.

Use the car, don't let it sit and rot.

No worries there -- it gets out at least once a week!

Make sure all the oil and fluids are up to temp.
Last year i took the car on a 3 hours drive on the hiway (first time since owned the car)
after that i can feel the hugh difference in throttle response, even the engine sounds better.

Funny - but very true that a German car is so responsive to an Italian Tune-Up...
