928s euro intake removal
Hi All!
Started to clean off 10 years of dirt from the engine, pull injectors, bring them to ultrasonic cleaning, changing old rubber parts, vacuum lines, ect...
One question, how to get out the dirt from the middel of the engine, from below the fuel distributor, throtthle housing without to remove them??

Why not just pull the whole unit out of the way? It's not that hard to do, just dissconet fuel lines at either end,main fuel and return lines, a few vac lines and the cables. IIRC there are only four bolts holding everything down, lift it out and be done with it. You can leave the fuel dist and throttle on. I personally don't think that there is enough room to get in and do a proper job of cleaning with it still in place. My .02

He wasn't talking about pulling the engine I don't believe. I would go ahead and pull everything else out as well. Good chance to replaced the gaskets and o-ring for the water bridge and the gasket for the oil fill housing. I just did it on mine. Looks soooo much better now.

Indeed, pulling the CIS air meter and FD is the way to go. Four 10mm nuts and two lines takes the whole shooting match off. Be prepared to replace the air meter mounts as they are bonded rubber and are usually broken at this age.

Here are two pics of the assembly you end up taking out, and a pic showing one of the bonded mounts which turned to mush over time, leaving the bottom part still screwed into the block.

Having done this myself recently I am left with stubs of the air flow meter rubber into the block. I cannot get good enough purchase on them with mole grips.... any other bright ideas, and which way to turn them to get them out would help!! ( my spatial awareness is shocking!!!)

^^ This ... definitely the way to go. The rubber bonded mounts are highly likely to have come apart anyway (as Guy said), and the whole lot will just lift out as soon as you have fuel and other lines disconnected.
