Ha, ha!

Hai gebissen and I have something in common, old SAABs. I have had 7 of them. They have a unique smell too.

BUT, my 928 somehow still smells like a new car. I like it. It is not too strong either. The old SAABs did not really smell new. More stale.

That's the wonderful smell of Castrol GTX wafting trough the vents. Ah I love the smell of old car in the morning. Of course it depends on what's currently leaking at the time. I'm just glad mine doesn't smell like gas any more!!!!

When I got mine it just smelt like "the 80's" to me... then when I started working on VW's more I realized they had a similar but different scent. To me VW's really smell like crayons more. My 928 smells like moth ***** now though unfortunately... to keep the mice out. Plus a cat gets put in there every night so there isn't any mice in there.

^^^^^ You put a cat in the car? No offense, but do you know what the '80 smelled like?

I didn't mean in the car, but we've always put our cat in the shop at night because he meows his head off at the house. I don't know what the 80's smelled like, I was just assuming that the 928 was a correct representation. For the first few weeks we started putting him in there (2007) there was always a dead mouse on the floor every morning I went to let him out.

No, but I imagine it smelled like (at least for my 928) cocaine and hookers.

Both mine smell like the old VW beetles that I cut my teeth on years ago. Seriously, I think its the hog hair backing used on some of the floor coverings and seats.

I love the smell of old cars, especially old German cars
