My reply is simple yet complex.

Age is something that affects people differently. If you are bothered by the aging process [a natural process] then you will pay attention to it. You'll take pills to keep your hair, the hair that you die, and you'll adopt the clothing styles of person's way younger than yourself.

And some of you that are older might actually be able via....haircuts and baggy shorts...of kind of being confusing. You may be 54 but that hottie nearby sees (initially) a guy who's just kewt, lean like a boi, and a bit understated....and seemingly one of the current age group. The crime is that you are not 24- you're 54, and you've just misrepresented yourself. Don't be upset when her majesty gives you a dirty look as she makes her way to the bar for another $4 beer. She'll give you your deserved "fu*ck off"

There are surprises abounding at the local dance clubs. Did you know that slavic faces look young? We have Turkish/Asian ancestors, so this helps us look younger and I have no bags/wrinkles around my eyes.

That and my mother's family tends toward lean body builds.

The long and short is that from these experiences and a few others is that age means nothing. I've been out at the clubs a few times this past week and have had 4 girls enquire about me, and one gay male hit on me. The latter is burning himself up as we speak...

[gawd-]

I don't mind:

**grabbing him around the neck-** "Gawd your hot,, and I'd normally love you, but I'm.....well staight". Then I'd kiss his cheek.

The long and short is that age is a state of mind. If it bothers you, then do something about it. Like buy another 928...

[wait- that would CAUSE more gray hairs!]

Good night-

Normy!

Geez Normy, sounds like you have more of a problem with age than most of us do. Age is a number, the physical time that we have existed on this rock. Nothing you can do about physical age! How you act is part of your personality, not age related.

I also wonder if you have some closet issues. You have to admit, you must be the first to detail the events of a man hitting on you on a 928 board. More information than was requested when asked for your age!

Lightheartedly posted by a 40yo Irish 6' 210lb guy that get's hit on by men & women, but remembers the women!

Lighten up Normy, the post was about the average (physical) age of 928 owners. That's all! (Well, maybe some pistol talk on the side)

BTW, I also have a Thompson Contender .44 mag, 14" Bull Barrel that's great for 'plinking'. With proper loads, it's a 2 hander! 9mm just doesn't have enough power for me. I just sold my Browning High Power.

Ketchmi- I'm pretty lighthearted in general...

But frankly, for plinking I have a Marlin .22 that takes a shell called a "WMR". This is a rim-fire .22 with a casing about 3 cm long- it almost looks like a joke, but it works well! I think they make pistols that take this round.

Normy,
When I left the Army - June 92' - I was a 42 year old muscle monster.
6'2", 203lbs of lean muscle, maxed every P.T. test, flat-topped, sun tanned.
Ran at least 12 miles a day, sober or drunk.
Feared nothing and confidence positively oozed out of me.
Unfortunately, I'm from another era and was totally faithful, Even with a mug like mine I was positively tripping over willing women.
A year later the legs that propelled me, on a dead run, with such force to heights and distances that would send that 'elevator drop' feeling -scary dude- gave out within a week. Knees were and still are bone to bone.
Talk about pain, I broke two molars grittin my teeth. No more running.
I am now a svelte 245 If Zack would stop trashing my bike -curb jumper- I'd lose some lard.
My only problem with age is sliding that 245 under the sHARk.
I'm fairly stoic about my demise, keeping in mind things change sometimes without warning.
I do look back but I know the difference between yesterday's fantasy and today's reality.
In a nutshell, My image is my image and if I were to hazard a guess there aren't a whole lot of us in the market for a tweenie twit -God they are good to lookat though!) But, even if we were, collectively, in the chase it wouldn't be a CRIME.
I do agree with "the state of mind" comment.
My 20/20 hindsight advise is if you are young and vital...capitalize!
Dave,I have a 3, 6, 8, 10, & 15" barrel for the Dan Wesson maybe not a Contender, but awsome accuracy. Fed a lot of Army enlisted families with the turkey shoot proceeds
Hey Shane,
There is a balance -almost- between the younger half and the Mature half.

John, Turkey shoots are awesome! Haven't been without a Turkey for the holidays for the last three years, and last year got two!

Well, my point behind all that was that I look younger than I am. In fact, it seems that as I have progressed into my 30's, I've apparently become more attractive to the other sex. In college, I seemed to hardly ever get a date or even a phone number; These days it almost seems like they are lining up to give them to me...

[heh heh! Perhaps the 928 helps...]

The gay thing is something that happens. I make a conscious effort to NOT be homophobic, even though at times it takes an effort when they make their attractions known. I refuse to act rude toward people who simply like the way I look, much the same as I refuse to be rude to kids who drive like maniacs through traffic in order to look at my car.

As I've aged it seems I've become more confident...and better at having simple conversations with girls. It seems so much easier now to make them smile- When I was 20 it was so tough!

What all this reinforces...in my view...is that age means nothing. When you are 20, you are simply attractive. When you are older, you have matured and your mind has had a chance to "settle", to instinctively know how to generate that smile and those dimples. I tend to bend the rules a bit- I do a bit of both these days I guess.

We have 20 year olds here. And people 3.5 times older- I think that is amazing!

928's attract people of all ages. This particular forum could be a case study- how particular physical objects of nearly similar properties affect people diffently. Go take a look at the 924/944/968 forum....you'll not find threads like this. Nor in the Boxster annals... or the 911 forums. People apparently naturally sort themselves by personality. 928 people tend to be intelligent yet pragmatic-

I am 17 and have two 928s.

My first is a 1979 928 - Red w/ Black leather.

My second is a 1982 928 "Competition Package" - Black w/ Black leather.

What can I say, I love the 928!

Best regards,
Carson

Hey John! Is your Dan Wesson a Stainless Mod. 744VH (vent/heavy) set? I've been looking for one of those for years! If it ever wants a new home I'll trade 928 parts for it.

"Now that's a revolver!"
