Well, I'm about to call a priest....

I've been trying to get my gauges working ever since I got the '79 on the road.

Regarding the Speedometer;

I've checked the sending unit behind the diff and tightened up the connector in the spare tire well. Yesterday, I removed the instrument pod and cleaned all the instrument contacts and soldered the connections (the little rivets) to the foil behind the Speedometer. I cleaned the edge-card connectors and the contacts in the connectors.

Got it all together and the Speedometer is no longer frozen at 40mph. It now registers about 1/2 the speed I'm actually traveling. The Odometer doesn't work at all (not at the top of my list right now).

Anybody got any suggestions?
