I sold Chip Foose a complete rear suspension and trans axle from a 928 for one of his projects and agree very nice guy. My Daughter and Son in Law last week they were signing autographs and were surprised to learn that the show was airing overseas dubbed in Spanish...was interested if it got done in Portugease

They were at the big SEMA show in Vegas

UAU! Pretty cool! I will watch the show for sure! So, a gasoline-in-the-blood family. Congratulations, I'm trying to do the same to my 4-years old son.

James, what is your take on the S4 swap, too much things to go wrong? The low light is that the car is an automatic transmission, despite not a big problem for me. Maybe the 83 transmission might be weak for the S4 engine?

The USA 83 was a 4 speed basically Mercedes as used in the V-8 cars with the Porsche differential on the rear. Pretty strong and should be fine. More of the "issues" would be how they modified the fuse and relay central panel to accept the much different fuel injection brain and ignition brain. That makes the car a hybrid with no know electrical diagrams to trouble shoot future problems ONLY the guy who wired it KNOWS what he did...

James, excellent comment. Despite I was provided a basic diagram and drawing of the wiring he did in the paperwork of the car, I'm scared about it. I'm an electronic engineer, but giving the complexity of the car, I'm not sure this would help at all. Actually, I spent the last weeks doing a research on adding an aftermarket programable injection/ignition module to the car, such as a fueltech Ft250. At least I would be able to know what is happening the electronics of the car...

Take a few deep breaths and relax the car currently runs so it must be reasonable O K . There is a wealth of knowledge on this forum and few problems go unresolved.. And it really is not that all complex a car

Hey gsmarrara,

Are the rear fenders GTS fenders? Almost looks like a slight bulge there. You got yourself a sweet ride!!! I always miss my cars when I'm down in Brazil driving the in-laws VWs! I'm jealous!

Hi Jherriott, I'm not sure, but I believe the fenders are original, maybe is just the photo angle. And I'm sorry to hear about the experience in the VW's, locked for hours in the terrible traffic of some of our biggest cities, such as Rio and Sao Paulo. Will be happy to give you ride in a shark if you ever visit Brasilia. And James, I know about just 5 or 6 Sharks in Brazil, so looks something out of this world in the street. Thanks for such a warm reception guys! Best.

Are you close to any Word Cup venues...

Congrats on your car! Enjoy it!

Question I have is..
Doesn't Brazil use a lot of ethonal in their fuel? something you may have to address in an older car?

Hi Tony, actually yes, I live in Brasilia, less than 2 kilometers from one of the Stadiums that will be used in the World Cup. My only problem is that I don't have tickets yet (lost the change on the randon sale, and arrived late to the sale they did last Monday), but I will manage to be there regardless what.

About the fuel, we have around 20% of ethanol in the gas, but we can buy, in some gas stations, a gasoline called "podium" that is a RON95. Is pretty much focused for imported cars (Compression 10:1 or higher) , but costs US$7.20 per gallon. Because of the ethanol, is recommended to replace fuel lines more often, and the ethanol corrodes faster any plastic lines and filters.

Welcome. If you know anything about electronics you should be fine. While they seem complex, they are just a group of simple electrics bundled together. A LOT of them but for the most part separate systems with little interconnection. Not like my Audi's or my Touareg where everything talks to everything!

You might be seeing some friends from North America showing up on your front door during world cup!
