Interior Color Scheme
For a long time, I've been trying to decide what to do with my interior. Nearly every two-tone GTS interior uses the lighter color on the carpets, like my light gray, and a darker color, normally black, on the dash and 'belt line'.
While part of me feels obligated to keep the interior original, I think light-colored carpet is hopelessly impractical. Particularly in the hatch area. I also do not want to go all black because I live in a hot climate.
So I am thinking a possible solution is to reverse the Porsche approach and put a lighter color on dash/console, door and seats and then go with black carpet, pod/steering wheel. That seems a far more practical solution.
Here's an Aston-Martin interior that follows this general theory. Thoughts?

Black carpet shows dust and lint where silver carpet dirt and mysterious foam spewed for AC ducts. Check out a few black carpeted 928 before deciding. Personally, I like the silver carpet even though it might show dirt it still keep the overall cabin color lighter... which I think my mind equates to cleaner. Just my $.02.

You’re not alone Tom. I've been wondering the same thing. When I come across interesting pictures, I’ve been saving them in a folder called “dichotomy”; below are a couple. The 3rd picture (w/ auto) is mine—I’m seriously thinking about flipping to a raspberry carpet so it will match the seats and centers. Dash and trim aside, light colored seats with a dark carpet look out of place IMHO whereas light colored seats with the same color carpet look “stunning.” All it would take is a sale by one of our vendors to get me off the fence. Would love to hear Rob Budd’s or Paul Champagne’s thoughts on it.
And I'm with you on feeling obligated to stay original; but I figure as long as I keep the original in a box, somebody can always put it back after I'm dead and gone. And then will quickly realize, Oh, I can see why he did it
