I had been, on and off, for only about 40 years, and doing my suspension rebuild finally got one. Paid for itself on that job, and have been using it since, not necessarily for what it was designed for!
Used the same setup for the tranny oil (facilitated by the casters I put on the press- everything that can have casters has them- you can see why from the size of the work area I have!)
Ahh Martin please post some pictures of your aluminum dipped 928 .
I have never seen this type of finish, Thanks
Stan, check out my thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...iler-idea.html. A couple of observations so far- it seems to cure after 3 weeks or so and become less fragile, but note I said "less"... Also, any surface grime at all (unavoidable on our farm) turns it from a somewhat acceptable looking finish to rat-rod gray primer. So 3 gallons of "Pearlizer" dip are in its future, probably right after the holidays. I'll post some more pics then. Fun to do, though.
Tell us more about the planks and the blue thing under the car.
The planks are ramps to give the 928 enough clearance to get up on top of the blue thing- a BendPak scissors lift (gonna sink it in the floor next year). Here it is doing other duty (like the press):

Hmm, I've had a 20 tonne press for years, but seeing your post makes me think I should be putting large castor wheels on it too.
