Default Very cool gift I got today at work

I got a call from a guy at work the other day that told me to stop by his desk the next time I was in his building. He just got back from Germany visiting his parents and brought back an old toy from his collection that he wanted to give me. Well...stopped by today and this is what he gave me:

Its a tiny plastic 928 made in Germany...and just happens to be close to my car color. I took picture of it next to the key of the car just to show the scale. It even has the rear wiper...underneath shows the muffler, cv joints and rear trans. It is amazing the detail on such a little piece.

I thought it was cool enough to share.

Looks like a HO scale model used for railroading dioramas.

Awesome!

They are made by Herpa in Germany. It was one of the early products I sold at Hooked on Cars. The early and S models were already out of production, so I had to buy from collections in Germany; then I bought the importer's remaining stock of the 928S4 Private Collection. I still have some of them, untouched in their original boxes, but otherwise it's eBay only...

Here is part of my private collection, up to 1:64 scale:

Hi Nicole,

nice collection, I wonder who made the ones with the "bigfoot" wheels in the back row next to the ONS?

Sorry for the hijack!

Sorry, I don't remember. The collection is currently packed away due to the ongoing construction at my home. Someone else here might know.

Those look like Micro Machines to me. Made by Galoob. There are also Micro Machines 928's without the 4x4 wheels.

Here's what I have. I don't think the really little one is a MM though.
