Kevin - I have a spare set of early front calipers that I have been slowly working on to paint and restore. I have the kit too with the new seals, etc. Looking at the caliper in the picture above, looks like you could use a replacement on them. If you aren't planning on the "S" brake upgrade, the calipers and repair kits are yours for the asking. Just pm your address to me and I'll get them out to you. I also have a spare set of venturi tubes you can have that I'll throw in if you need them.

Based on the interest in this thread and on facebook, it's clear this little 'junkyard dog' has struck a chord with us.
The other side of it is many of us are really glad to see Kevin back into a OB 928!
It's Minerva Blue! ...how cool is that!? The stars are aligned right now. I can't think of anyone as helpful, giving and deserving as him.
And quite an amazing reception on Facebook as well! Most receptive post I've had so far... of just one pic... of a happy smile of the junkyard dog.

Help me out on something.....
Seems like I recall a Minerva Blue 928 from an ad
about 3 years ago..sitting in a driveway...nose out
infront of a garage for sale....faded paint...flat wheels
Anyone remember that ad...either CL or eBay.....?
I was in process of looking for one at the time....
Ended up with the 79.....now gone...
The listing either made it to RL...someone saw it
It was in suburban Maryland...Montgomery Village, I think
Just doing a little memory search....anyone.....?

Email excerpts from owner, 7-14-2011:
I am a member of the PCA, #198311XXXX. I have a 928, 1978 which needs restauration. I would like to find a good home it for since I am no longer able to do the work myself. What the car needs: four tires, new battery and a paint job. The color is azure blue. The car is a German model, which I imported, converted and licenced on 1980, I think. It has some 60K kilometers on it. I replaced the circuit board for the instrument panel and the oil pressure indicator stopped working. This is the reason why I have not driven it in a long time. I was afraid that should anything happen to the oil pressure, I may burn out the engine.
Would you know anyone who may be interested in restauring the car? I would appreciate it if you could let fellow members know about the car. The car is in Montgomery Village, MD.

Dear Kevin:
Thanks for your interest. The VIN # is 9288101096. I am attaching a couple of pictures of the car. Because Comcast refuses to send all of the pisctures, I will send the pictures in two batches. As you will see, the car's body is straight. I cannot vouch for what the car's history was before I bought it, but while I owned it, it was not involved in any accidents. The interior is in decent shape. I replaced the exhaust and the dashboard circuit board. While there is no oil pressure indicated, I believe that the pressure is there. I have tried to trace the what I believe is a bad connection to the oil pressure indicator and could not do it and eventually gave up. Some electrical connections are disconnected, but clearly marked. I could part out the car, but feel that the car deserves to live. I hope that you can help me find some crazy person who would be willing to restore the car and enjoy it.
Thanks again. Walter Sadowski.
