Default Solutions for heel-toe driving

I'm working on increasing my driving skills by trying to learn heel-toe driving on my 5-speed 928 S4. The issue I am running info is that when I hit the brake on the right edge of pedal with the ball of my foot, the right edge of my foot just misses the accelerator, as it is a touch too far. When I try the traditional heel to the throttle method, the heel gets buried at the bottom of the pedal hinge and I can't blip.

I've seen some pedals that seem to have a slightly wider accelerator and that might work, but I'd love some suggestions and recommendations.

On your 87, the location of the hinge of the accelerator pedal should be adjustable. You might want to looks at brining it closer to your driving position to see if that helps.

I have a accelerator pedal from Carl, it works great. Easy install, too.

Ugh. Unfortunately 928 Motorsports discontinued them 6 months ago. They recommended Summit Racing but I don't see any on their site either.

So far all I see is SRP racing that has them made to order. Just not sure of the lip size. Any other options?

Too bad on the 928motorsports one. Try rennline, they may have something as well.

I just press the brake and roll my foot onto the accelarator pedal...but I have big feet (size 13). Its more like big toe - little toe. :-)

That's how I do it in my 968 but with size 10 feet it does not work well in my 928S4. A thick accelerator pedal cover would help.

Same here. Since I trail brake I still want the ball of the foot on the brake for sensitivity, and my feet are a bit narrow to reach the other pedal.

I ordered the bottom of line SRP pedals.

I've mounted the gas pedal, undecided if I'll be using the brake and clutch as the stock pedals have a good textured surface underneath the rubber covers. I can take a pic of the mounted gas pedal next time I'm out at the shop if you'd like to see how it fits.

I was impressed with the SRP ones after installing them on a customers car. I was reluctant until actually using them.

I wear a size 10 and I can do it in my racer....its not easy, but once you adjust the location of the gas pedal it becomes decent...if the bottom of the gas pedal is in a bad (for you) position...forget it....

I send some questions to SRP and Brian responded same day. He emailed me a template which I used to create a cardboard pedal on the accelerator and by doing so i was able to blip the throttle pretty easily.

I think I must be double jointed, I have no issues with stock pedals.....

Is the pedal set up different based on years? '85 S with absolutely no issues...in fact, I've found it's easier than a Lotus Elise.

If you haven't already done so take the pedal covers off the brake and clutch, that seemed to make it easier to perform heel/toe on my car. Hopefully your throttle response is better than mine as the crappy throttle response makes getting the timimg right tough.
