Default 1983 928S auto idle problem when warm (k jet)

Hey, im new here been reading this forum for the last few weeks trying to get my head around being a 928 owner again.
i recently bought a 83 3 speed auto 928S and when you first start it up in the morning it's fine and i let it warm up for 5 mins or so and then i take off and runs fine until i get to my destination and then i turn the car off leave the car for a few mins, get back in and start it back up and when it's in park it's ok but when i put it in reverse or drive it just wants to die if i dont have my foot on the throttle it's down in the 500 rpm region when in drive, if i let the car sit in park for a few mins its ok and dont have a problem, or just take off before it cuts out and give it a bit its ok from then on but still very low at idle in drive but not cutting out.
is it as simple as turning the idle up? or is there another problem, what should it idle at? (in park and drive)

K jet is controlled purely by pressure. Get a set of CIS gauges and check the pressures warm and cold.
That should pinpoint you too your problem, my guess is a bad fuel accumulator, check to see if there is fuel coming out from the vacuum port on it or if fuel is leaking out of it.
I know they are located on the back of the cars off of the fuel filter on the earlier cars, not sure about the S.

Mine is also an 83 K-jet, all good at the moment. Have had issues in the past with similar symptoms. You need to get a gauge set, so you can test pressures. Poor warm/hot starts can be due to failure to hold pressure from shut down (should not fall below ~22 psi in 20minutes after shutdown) - usual culprit is either the check valve in the pump(cheap), or the accumulator (not cheap). Next time it happens, quickly check at the exhaust if it smells rich, or is visibly sooty, which could indicate the thermotime switch is making when it shouldnt. Cold start injector might be leaking , leading to rich mixture. The accumulator is in front of the right rear wheel, under a splash cover - if it is visibly wet with fuel, its leaking and failed. My car also has an unusual wiring plug into the side of the fuel distributor (where all the 8 injector pipes come from at the back), which was disconnected when I got the car - reconnecting fixed one of my hot start issues.
spec idle is 750 +/- 50rpm.
Whereabouts in Melbourne are you ? Or at least in Vic ?
