Default Is this recoverable?

I'm looking at this 928, but can't for the life of me figure out why this modification ever seemed like a good idea. So I'm gonna leave this up to you guys to either get a good laugh from or assure me it can be reverted. Cheers!

Pass.

Spend the money you would have spent reverting it back on one that wasn't changed in the first place. Interesting car but looks like it still needs a lot more work that the 5% the seller listed by itself. I like that they're including enough parts to basically build another 928 though.

For the money, you could get a better sorted example I think.

Has a 928 "prototype" look.

It's like they were thinking "you know what this car is missing? A really huge blind spot on either side!"

Every time someone does this to a shark, I smile inside knowing my 928 just became slightly rarer.

Rear windows and sunroof were covered up for that custom look.
Notice he didn't say it was a 'good' look, just a 'custom' look.

Wait a couple weeks, talk him down to $2,000 and make a pickup out of it!

I love the idea. I have dozens of pictures of the stroesk hatch saved on my computer for a future project involving a parts car that is just sitting around. I saved these pics as well. I identified them as "How not to do it"

Awful look.

I wold guess that they welded in steel and filled over it. I'm curious how they finished the interior if at all...

If your looking for a project there is a guy near you who has a '84 euro (smashed front end) and a '82 US he is selling as a package for similar $$$. could build yourself one of the best models of OB.

If you go that route let me know... I need parts

It almost looks like an El Camino. I think I threw up a little in my mouth.

F-that... money pit. All the money you'd need to spend, and at the end of it still only have a stock run of the mill OB.

I would say you should buy it for $3,000. The transmission and torque converter will cost around $2,800 including labor to be rebuilt. It seems to me that the majority of other things have been taking care of (if he can prove it with receipts). Just search on this forum for how many times a 928 did not start because of the things he has already replaced.
