I'm liking it. Would you care to share the model number and perhaps cost?
How easy/hard was it to connect to your speaker wiring?
Looks like MJ928 answered that with the link.
I can't comprehensively give you details about the speaker wiring--I had a car audio specialist do it! It took them four hours to do the job, if that tells you anything.

Aaron,
Buy the speakers from Hans - plug and play for your car.
Care to share the details of what you bought and from where? I need one for one of my Weissach cars.
Had no idea about the speakers. Thanks. I did a search a while back and someone was rambling on about how difficult it is to replace/upgrade the early model speakers behind the leather trim. I was actually convinced I had to refurbish the originals.
The sound is acceptable for 30 + year old speakers, but they can't handle much bass and then comes the crackling. Rears in better condition than the fronts.

The faceplate is cheap, so in other words it's not a bad match for the cheesy black plastic Porsche used in an otherwise lush interior. That good of a fit was very tough for me to find--or rather to decide on.
For sure, and stealthily mounted--I love that.
Retro sound has 4 x 6 speakers that will fit in the early 928. I purchased 4 speakers with the same head unit. I spoke with one of the folks from Retrosound and he made recommendations for me that should work well. The door speakers are only 1.3" deep and will fit. I put in the rear speakers and they made a difference. Working on total interior refurbishment on my 1978 dash and console out to be redone.
I purchased the model one radio and the retromod R-463N 150 watt 2 way speakers (4). Radio is about $250. With 4 speakers looking at $400.

Yes I measured them. They are thinner than the OEM speakers that I removed. They come with a universal mounting bracket that will match the bolt pattern. Once I get my interior back from the upholstery shop I will post pictures with the total installed system.
I am down south in irvine.

The speakers sound considerably clearer than they did, although there's some static greatly exacerbated by bass.
