Default "New" Fuel Injector Technical Discusion

While researching and designing my lower intake manifold, I was constantly looking at injector body sizes/design trying to get an optimal design that would still fit around the injector. EV6 style injectors seem to have caught on in the community (first major replacement injector I recall was the FOTE 19# Ford truck multi-orifice EV1) and we have been using the 42# green "Hulk Tops" in most of the supercharger setups for years.

I am still curious though, why we never really discuss the real advancements in injectors for multi-valve engines. Starting in 2003 with the supercharged 4.6 32v Cobra engines, Ford switched over to a twin-stream 39# injector. That injector is currently available in several derivatives, including a 39, 42, and 52lb. The part number for the standard injector is 0280156127. I am still trying to find actual Bosch datasheets for this injector, but it seems like the ideal format for our heads.

Anyone who knows the Ford 4v motors will instantly see many commonalities between it and our 32v design. While trolling through searches online today, trying to find the corresponding illusive Bosch Motorsport datasheets, I found this video, which demonstrates, while not good for an old-school single valve Chevy, this injector is about perfect for the stock 928 injector location.

This is just one of several available injectors with split-stream. Short of mentioning it several times in various threads over the years, I still dont know anyone running something like this on our cars.

I purchased a set of Cobra injectors on eBay the other day, and will get the adapters (Cobra versions used USCAR connectors), and try and get some feedback on if the 39#'s can be controlled reliably in a factory configuration with factory management.

I just thought it was time to have a dedicated discussion about "newly" available injection technologies that can be easily implemented on our cars.

Don't our cars require low impedance injectors? Whereas most modern 4 hole injectors are high impedance? Totally agree with upgrading them to modern technology, every bit helps!

LH jet uses High impedance, L jet uses low impedance so your S4 would work well with them.

I'm planning on rebuilding the GT motor this winter, and all I can say is WOW! That video is an awesome demonstration. If I decide to renew the injectors, I will look into these. Awesome find. Thanks Hans.

I would love to try them, but my intake and pizza's intake bushings are designed for the older fat injector style.

There are other split-stream injectors out there, but this one looks like the best, in my simple research, for our cars as it is available in just about all the sizes we could use. I would like to try and find something a bit lower, like 30lb, which I am sure exists. I did find a Bosch Motorsport injector, but the price was unreasonable. There are some Continental injectors worth looking at, like the FI114357:
