Air bag light on

Air bag light on
On my 91 GT when I start the car the display states that the air bag is malfunctioning. I reset it and the display clears, however the light stays on in the cluster. The display will come on after driving a while and can be canceled by the stalk, but the cluster light stays on continuously.
Sean & Stan both said it is probably a connector not seated properly.
So before I start digging in, anybody has pictures or a step by step guide for what I should be looking for? Where are the connectors?
The car was fine before it was parked for a couple of months and then after its hibernation, when I started it I get this behavior.

That's "this car will self destruct in 15 seconds warning" so beware.

Bilal here is a link from Wally P.
I just put " air bag connector location" into the search bar,
there are more threads if this doesn't answer your question.

Why are there so many DeOxIT products. Makes it very difficult, for a simpleton like me to figure out which one to use.
Now Ed said he used D100L to clean the contacts, but do you need DeOxIt SHIELD to protect it after you have cleaned it with D100L?

I'd start by cleaning the passenger side sensor. Do a good cleaning before you take the time and pay to have the code reset.
I'm not aware of any DIY reset of this particular fault without the Hammer, Baum or similar diagnostic tool. I was able to get my ab malfunction code cleared with a Baum diagnostic tool. I believe that this type of tool uses modules specific to certain cars. The mechanic that I went to happened to have the Baum diagnostic tool and the proper module for the '91 928.

I posted up a diag and repair thread a while back. The short answer is that you want to know which sensor or ign pill is failing before digging in. Only the hammer will give you that info. You can take the connectors to the crash sensors apart and clean the connector and have it reset, but you don't know what you're looking for unless it's diagnosed with the hammer.
The pigtail connectors for the crash sensor are below the A pillar in the footwell and are really hard to locate. They are small round sealed connectors. I would clean them mechanically with a small rat tail file and a fingernail file. Then clean them with some generic de-ox-it and reconnect. Once you have the hammer, you can reset and check the sensors again. If it's the ignition pill circuit, that can be cleaned as well. I also take the 3 connectors off the airbag ctlr off and spray de-ox-it in there too.
Take the battery terminal off before starting work.

Bilal: Sounds like the same warning you get anytime the steering wheel is removed and the bag is disconnected, probly anytime you disconnect any part of the system, i.e., even if you clean the correct pin you will still have the fault light b/c some component in the system was disconnected. AFAIK, only the Hammer and Theo's software will clear this. Some time ago, 928OC was asking for suggestions for their inventory of loaner tools. I wonder if they can help.
I will contact someone there.

Like I said earlier, the Baum tool with the correct module will also clear this code. I can't say for certain that it will read and detail the code (something like "low resistance, passenger side airbag sensor" for instance) but it will clear the code.
