Default Was this a stock interior?

I have seen most every interior until I saw this. Pretty grimy, but it appears to be original by the way that the seats all match as well as the door cards. Just curious, is it an OEM material?

Its a real Euro, so it could be.

Seems like it. Blue seat bolsters, blue dash, console, etc.

It looks like it might be a really dirty/soiled Plaid. But unsure. Maybe just a striped houndstooth or striped tweed.

But I really don't know!

But hey, the wheels have real knock-offs! Oh wait......

Take care,

Those must be the Roman edition wheels, you can put a spike on the center cap and puncture the wheels of opposing vehicles nearby.

Look like 944/924 seats to me. Lots of cloth insert color combos for those.

911 seats also look the same as the 944/924 seats as well. Not 928 front seats.

Good catch. Yea, I forgot the early 928 seats are unique. Unless some Euro models came with these seats?

Take care,

I think those are early 928 sport seats. Given that the rears have the same material and the same in on the door inserts I would suggest that they are original to the 928. The early sport seats did not come with the seperated cushion sections like the regular 928 seats. They are more from the other porsche line of cars. That's why the rear seats are not with the seperate cushions either.. They were made to match the sport seats in the front.

just looking at Brian Long's "Porsche 928" which lists the standard trim options for the MY1981.

It lists:
Black, brown, Beige or Dark blue Leather or Vinyl with seat inlays in matching leather, Blue/Black, Grey/Black or Beige/Brown chequered 'Pascha' velour, Black, Beige or Blue 'Uni-Stoffe' cloth, or Grey/Black, Blue/Black or Burgundy/Grey 'Berber' cloth. Carpets came in Black, Brown, Beige or Dark Blue.

So how about "Berber" option for seat inserts ? Although it doesn't list Grey/Blue as an option for Berber...perhaps the Uni-Stoffe came as Grey/Blue....?

It was my understanding that with enough money you could really order anything you wanted if you were willing to wait for it....

First of all, this is not a 1981 928 S, but a 1980 928.
M28/09 engine and manual gearbox.
Delivered in Belgium
M058: Impact absorbers front and rear
M197: Stronger battery
I422: ?
I425: Rear wiper
I454: Automatic speed control
I571: ?
M573: Air conditioner

I have already seen this kind of seats on Euro 928s of this period but never with this kind of cloth.

M422 Blaupunkt Bamberg radio
M571 Rear foglight

Some '80-82 4.5L used period 911 seats as cheap basic setup but those are probably from later MY 944. Idea for using 911 stuff was to make absolute basic model little cheaper in hope they would sell more cars.
