Diabolical
Spent a little time on his 88 today checked the following.
Corrosion on both computers including the pin cables inside the jackets.
Checked Ce panel for corrosion, burnt wires.
All related 53 relays were replaced by PO.
Checked amps for corrosion, all grounds cleaned.
Checked 14-pin connector.
Vacum looks normal.
Smoke tested one small leak under intake.
When temp dropped car seemed to run ok.
While at idle after several min idle surged had air box off seemed like a air correction rather then a cut out.
Loaner computers had same symptoms although it was mentioned that idle surged up and down with loaners installed.
I am wondering about the Maf with the surge symptom but not sure about the cut out while driving.
Could anything be going to ground when hot causing this to cut out: Ie idle control valve Ox sensor that would be commen to the ignition circuit?
