Unbelievable, no wonder she's been running crappy, especially upon start up. Luckily I've only put about 60 miles on her since she came out of hibernation due to remodeling the house. That's right, that's a K&N, it's gone, replaced with a Mahle, and, installed galvanized 1/4 inch screens like I seen somebody else on here do at the inlets. I've owned her 15 years and first time this has happened. Only a few particles in the screen below the air filter. If you look closely, you'll see a dead mouse between the nest stuff and the acorns, kinda yellow with a tail.
The four mounting straps are snug, not tight. is that the way they should be? Should I try to bend the clips some?

When you put her to bed again, pack steel wool in to the inlets for the air tubes and pack the exhaust pipe as well. Pack it tight so they can't pull it out. They certainly can't chew through it.

You will want to inspect/snake your exhaust system. The oval exhaust pipe outlet is attractive to rodents and the resonators and cat make nice storage chambers for nuts and seed.
