Default CD-2 Radio always goes toCODE : Help

'89 928 S4
After changing from the stock amp to aftermarket amp, it started going to code after turning off the key. I didn't change anything pluged into the unit except the 8 Pin din cable for a longer one.
Can anyone help?

Thanks

There's a power wire for the actual operation of the radio and a power wire for the memory of the radio.

My guess is that you have somehow either disconnected the "memory" wire, or blown the fuse.

If you removed the factory amp then you need to jumper the 2 red wires at the power connector of the factory amp.
