I remember one of those two "greens" on ebay several years ago, it showed the window sticker and there was $10,000 or $12,000 for "special paint", beautiful car! I think that one or the other "green" car was the last one made, or shipped here, I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong.
It's all relative to the point I'm trying to make. You drill a low volume car down enough and they are all one of only a few. Paint and transmission combination is the easiest way to do this.

Sure, the 928 is a low volume car, but an Iris Blue automatic '94 (one of one!) is still going to be worth more than a Black automatic '94 (one of 42), ceteris paribus (condition, mileage, etc.) If you were selling the Iris Blue one, wouldn't you want to highlight its relative rarity?
Sadly blue is one of those colors that you have to see it in person to make the best impression that or the person is a very very very good with a camera.

That is one of the points I was trying to make. In fact I had an agreement to purchase the one of one Iris blue GTS when the seller sold it out from underneath me. After owning black Porsche's for years I decided I wanted unique colors only it took me over a year to find both my turbo and GTS the turbo is one of one cobalt over black and IIRC there are only 2 amazon green over cashmere 5 speed GTS's one early vin and my late vin all the other amazon green cars have classic gray which I am not a fan of at least with the amazon. My turbo being a one of one will always be worth more than a comparable black white or red car since so many were made in those colors.

I have to agree. When I purchased my turbo back in 2003 the PO could not get people to look at it because they were skeptical of the color. It all worked in my favor because I picked up the car for half or less than it is worth today and everyone who sees it says it is the prettiest Porsche they have ever seen.
It is a shame the one of one Cobalt blue GTS was parted out I would have paid a premium for that car.
Lets see if they come back online in the next week or two. T
Unfortunately it looks like both the 94 & 95 are back on ebay. Hopefully the 93 is going to a new owner.
[QUOTE=cobalt;10783007]Boy if that was only true. My GTS I would consider better than #2 shape. A near perfect multiple concours winning, blemish free, unique color, 5 speed with original paint and mechanically perfect, dust free car. I would sell it in an instant if I could get close to those numbers for it but with 65k miles I would be lucky to get $40k for it.
Cobalt, I would think your 5spd would be worth more. There is a low mile (29,885) 94 Amazon Green auto on ebay bid up to $ 61.028 that has not met it's reserve.
IIRC, About 1-2 years ago, I bid up to $ 33,000 on a almost identical 94 Amazon Green 5spd (29,000 miles) that Chuck Z was selling for a friend. I think that car eventually sold for $ 35,000, so looks like prices are on there way up. T

But isn't that the "individuality" of the market and finding the buyer for the car. For me it's a silver or black car, 5 speed with black interior. I would have passed on the blue car or had it repainted (hehehe ok wrapped), or discounted it significantly because I'm not partial to blue at all. Whereas your cars give it a greater significance.

Wow that is interesting. Not sure why Micheal's ads show up when I do a search but the Amazon green car didn't. Although this is the one and only 94 amazon car and for some reason the 94's seem to command 20-30% more than the 93's. It would appear they are on the rise but I think the mileage still hurts mine. I don't plan on selling but it is always nice to know what you have is not depreciating in value.

Lately with the turbo market there are so few that come up for sale that most buyers throw anything but condition out the window so the first car to come along they grab they will battle over rare color combos but if they want one they take what is offered. There are probably less than 200 turbos left in the US and you don't see many up for sale. When I purchased mine I could find you 3-5 at any given time.

This is the same car that Chuck was selling. I checked the vin.
I sure hope prices are going up. May consider selling our concours winning '93 in the near future... only for the purpose of buying another Porsche, though!
