Can anyone recommend a leather dye?
I'm replacing the back of one of the seats in my 951 and the new seat back is cream colored; it needs to be black. Can someone recommend a dye?

Call and speak to Joanne Price. She'll probably answer the phone. She will be very helpful to you, for dying old leather seats is NOT so straight forward.

I've had good results with the Leatherique products. Did both door panel inserts with a custom color matched dye that is a perfect match. I've also re-dyed my steering wheel using their standard steering wheel black kit. Also a top quality product.

I've used both Leatherique products and ColorPlus. Big fan of JoAnne and ColorPlus.
There are several posts on Rennlist 928 Forum with the procedure I've used very successfully to thoroughly clean, refurbish with Soffener, and re-dye Porsche seats to either the original color, or to change the color significantly (e.g. dark brown to silver grey).
The seats in my avatar have supple leather that was nearly 20 years old, pretty hard due to that amount of exposure in the southwest, and were champagne in color. Refurbished, installed on the 12 way power/heated frames, and very soft and enjoyable in the now 'cork' color.

Thanks for the recommendations. Considering that I need this done for Frenzy, I went ahead and dropped it off to have it professionally done. Picking it up Thursday.

Here are some before and after pictures of a DIY job using only leather cleaner/prep, permanent leather spray dye and a semi-gloss finish coat. I got all of these products at http://zelikovitz.com/

Picked it up today and they did a great job. Looks absolutely perfect, and it went in easily. Really looking forward to Frenzy!
