Drifting
I tried griots and the look was ok, the wax darkened the car a little in appearance and the paint didnt have that t bright shine. so I switched back to ZAINO AND HAVE NEVER LOOKED BACK.. looks great on my wifes millenium yellow vette. and lasts forever.wipes on easy. off easy and No residue!!!
ZAINO !!
A very well respected paint shop recommends NO Wax!!on paints with clear coats. old
technology. new stuff like Meguires grand finale or comparable product is all you need after a good claying. lasts much longer and doesnt change the appearance of the paint.

Ok!
So clay the car, then a clear coat sealant or similar.
Since I'm on the subject of cleaning up a car, either the leather or the old original carpet have a strong "man cave" smell. This odor was present when I bought the car and has not improved. The only product I've used on the interior is Letherique cleaner and conditiioner.
I will eventually add mass loaded vinyl sound damper and dynamat or similar and replace the carpet. I have not cleaned out the AC condenser box but that is on my list.
Anybody have good ideas to tame the sweaty leather pants smell in my car?

Not exactly. Steps:
1. Clay
2. Remove swirls by light compounding
3. Polish
4. Wax
Glaze fills in some light swirls, personally I have tried it many times and the results are underwhelming compared to doing step 2 and 3 perfectly. The gloss you get from jewelling the paint is unreal.
I have had good luck with Mezerna products:
http://www.eshine.ca/menzerna_total_...519.php?cat=27
Mercedes use them at the factory and they know a thing or 2.
For the final step (wax) any good carnauba based product will amplify the depth from all the hard work during polishing.
For durability/longevity use synthetic wax ( Sealant) instead of carnauba wax especially on a daily driver. Some "top" the sealant with carnauba wax, I'm not subscribing to that theory. A good and cheap product that layered with several coats will almost make your paint feel like its wrapped in teflon coat is coincidentally the "Big White Shark" high temp paste wax http://www.eshine.ca/finish_kare_100...800.php?cat=71
I attach a couple of pics from my old cabrio, when I did step 1 through 3 as described above. Note that the pics are before I waxed. The last picture attached is after a similar step job but with wax on (Zymol Glasur) the paint was looking really glossy. That detail pretty much took me the whole day...

If your car is a driver, a protectant on the carpet isn't a bad idea. ScotchGuard is easily available but can get expensive for the whole carpet set. I like the 303 fabric protectant in a spray bottle.

I used 3M compound first, then Klasse all-in-one, followed by Klasse high-gloss sealant. The polish is an acrylic and seals harder than traditional wax. And with proper buffing, the shine is mirror like, even from a track hardened 928 like mine.

I'm curious to know the durability between acrylic and polymer. From what Klasse has advertised, acrylic lasts longer than most commercial and professional poly sealants/waxes.

+1 Ozium to remove the smell of anything anywhere. Find it at Albertson/grocery stores, hospitals, smoke shops etc.
Best education I found is at www.griotsgarage.com. Folks have listed the Griot's product to use, now you can watch a 1 minute video on how to apply it.
Warning: Car Detailing can be a slippery slope - I've been using Griot's for 12 years!

As far as smell....
Grab this stuff-2 or 3:
$6 Home Depot
Gonzo Home Odor Eliminator 2lb Bag by Gonzo

Put it under seats-be careful not to open it or to jam seat. To recharge it, put in sun for a few hours, back in car. Odor will dissipate. I store car in garage with windows opened to let out gassing exit. Also, clean the seats with top quality leather cleaner then conditioner.
