Default Internal diameter of upper rad hose

85 S3, my fan pulley failed on me, going to upgrade to an electric fan from zirgo.

I don't like the probe style thermo switches, so I'm thinking of an in line switch like this:

With this:

And the fan:

It will be set up on the cold side most likely, only coming on when the natural air flow is not doing its job.

Just wondering what the internal diameter is of our hoses. I don't have one to measure.

Yep I have read about that. In my case I would like to retain the factory shroud and just put in an electric fan.

Still trying to find out what the internal diameter is on our rad hoses.

The radiator hose fitting is 45mm OD (based on a spare end tank I have), and the top hose outer dia is around 55mm. 1-3/4" is 44 mm. The adapter sold by Carl at 928motorsports is also 1-3/4", and threaded for the std M22x1.5 temp sensor used by Porsche. And its cheaper at $25 - I had one made locally out of alloy bar, and the material cost (in small qtys) was more than that. I have used a dual 11" Spal fan assembly to good effect. I did try one of the Zirgo 16" fans (as a pusher, in front), and it didnt do the job for me. I found a temp sensor set for in 98C out 93C kept the temp just under the second white line, when fitted in the top hose.

I am using the Flex-a-lite #32084 to fire my Ford dual fans that sits in front of Carl's alum rad as well as a seperate temp gauge.
