We experimented with forming the polycarbonate also, but found that the heat-cycles necessary to gas-out the water from the poly made it more difficult than we liked. If the polycarbonate is "wet" (allowed to absorb moisture from the air) the water molecules will boil within it at 212 and you'll get a heck of a haze and bubbles. So several pre-bakes are required to (hopefully) drive all the moisture out of it before you go for the temp you need to form it to shape.
