Thank you Oliver.
That looks the same as my setup.
Now I just need someone to explain to me how the RHD system allows for a fully open butterfly when the pedal is just about to engage the kickdown switch and still allows for further pedal movement to engage the kick down switch while not shifting the butterfly beyond fully open of stressing out the cable.
If I read the LHD system adjustment instructions correctly there is a compression spring in the system somewhere (at the throttle quadrant) to allow this to happen. I don't see any such spring in the RHD system and certainly have great difficulty enagaging the kick down switch with the pedal when the cable is adjusted to provide for full throttle before the kick down is engaged.
Maybe Roger, who is familiar with both systems can help out??

My 86 broke there also.
Right where it comes through the firewall.
I put a big piece of heat shrink on it.
It shrunk up nice and tight.
Can't adjust it anymore, but couldn't anyway.

My intake is off so I can't test this, buuut as far as I can remember I think I adjusted the pedal to quadrant with the large black plastic nut at the quadrant. This nut replaces the firewall adjustment nut of the LHD cars. Picture from Wayne in this thread https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...djustment.html
Accelerator cable looks essentially shorter and reversed when comparing RHD to LHD setup, and no spring at quadrant for RHD. Hence I did not use Greg's method from here but Wally's from here.
Now to put this into context, I did this about two and a half years ago and I considered my throttle mechanism to work as intended then. Car has been on a ramp for the last two years while the slowest amateur is working on it.
Hope this helps or gives at least a starting point for someone else who really knows to help. Also try the UK list at 928org.uk

Thanks Oliver.
I have had a look at Wally's post. Looks like the factory system allows for a spring in the LHD system and none in the RHD system.

For some reason I have this memory that there is a spring in the connection between the cable and accelerator pedal. I don't know why I think this - my 928s are 5sp so don't have kickdown anyway. Got to be worth a look. I'ld look but I'm in Fiji.
