Chasing intermittent engine cut - Euro 84 S manual
Hi,
Euro 84 S manual.
Replaced few weeks ago the aging MAF with reconditioned one from JDS, which solved totally some starting mid-range bucking and hesitation. Now all runs smooth except when I floor the pedal: engine starts going up in revs normally then there is a very brief engine cut, for even less than a second, and continues revving up.
Could happen when pulling strongly from a traffic light in 1st, as well as when cruising in other gears then suddenly flooring the pedal.
Definitely this was not there before MAF change. No other symptoms.
If pressing the pedal progressive, can take it to red zone without a miss.
Relays checked, spark plugs / wires / distributors caps and rotors ok, new temp 2 sensor...
Was advised to adjust the MAF a bit richer: already 2 full turns (CW) and still no change. Should I go for a couple of turns more?
CPS? LH? Fuel pressure dampers?
All hints are welcome!

Hello... feeling lonely... have scoured the archives with no success to read about any similar symptoms.
Calling for the experts
Any one has got a clue? Thanks!

I would set the MAF back to 380,
from what you posted you have done something else to cause this issue,
maybe its time for new spark plugs and wires,
check the twin dizzy timing as well as cam timing
put in a new Temp 2 sensor ,
check the TPS connection and that its functioning

Thanks Stan ,
Plugs/wires/TPS/twin dizzy belt were all changed a year ago.
The MAF was changed few weeks back only because the old one was aging and was experiencing bucking and hesitation on acceleration. Since the MAF was changed this intermittent cut symptom appeared, while the bucking/hesitation was gone.
Will reset the MAF to 380 and see whether it fades, but rather doubtful.
While convinced that the MAF is not in cause, it seems that the new improved running conditions have triggered this symptom.
The cut would always occur in the 3500rpm range.

check the maf connector for damaged wires at the MAF connection,
make sure the ground wires to the block are in good condition,
there should be a thick ground wire from each coil mount to the head
