SHOCK-RIDE ADJ. QUESTION
Searched forum under "ride height adjustment" still did not find a quick answer for my question. :
" Is the spring suppossed to rotate when I am turning the collar to increase the height of my rear springs" Collars turn and move up the threads as designed but the spring turns as well.
Just want to clairify this before I proceed.
Thanks
Lon

Spray lubricant on and let sit for a while, once you start turning the collar to go up, spray and lube as it goes, spring shouldn't turn, hope that help.

Lemme think now...
It is driving the springs into the depressions on the plates or away from them? The end plates aren't flat but include a step that matches the ends of the springs. If the springs aren't fully into those the car may or may not settle and might settle on only one side. Check it out.
The best option is no spring turning.

OK both top and bottom plates are turning with the shock when I move the adjustment collar. The shock is turning "into" the plate so that it catches the depression in plate. PB was sprayed about 1 hr. ago.
I just not clear why the plates would not turn given the amount of spring pressure on them.
As you can see, car is on the PK bars, wheels off. Should I hold the plate while turning the collar. Both springs turn on each shock on both sides. Not a complicated issue but I made a couple of mistakes when I just completed the TB/WP service so rather than make a mistake and damage something I felt it better to ask.
Thanks

Are just the adjusting collars turning or are the threaded sleeves turning as well? If it's just the adjusters turning it shouldn't mater as the distance between adjusters is getting smaller and putting more pre-load on the springs and raising the car.

Thanks Mike, that's what I thought, just the collars are turning, the sleeve is not. Glad I waited to be sure. It just did not make sense that the spring would not turn. I probably did not explain myself correctly, hence the "no spring turning" replies.
