"...when using the switch next to the seat, just "spins".

You do know they all just spin, they are a "Pull" type switch, does the motor run/cycle when you Pull up on the ****?

If not, do your interior light work, and check if the 1.0 AMP fuse is OK.

Once a year or so I "lube" the entire hatch seal contact area with a very thin coat of silicone grease. Very thin, just enough to shine it up a little, rubbed in well. That has stopped some annoying squeaks. If you have to raise the bumpers very high to stop the squeak, then lubing the rubber seal like I do may help.

Yes, understand that the switch pulls. When I pull the switch the motor runs and the mechanism sounds like it is cycling. Again, when the bumpers are adjusted/lengthened the hatch will not open. When the bumpers are retracted a bit the hatch will open using the switch. Just wondering if this is normal or if the hatch mechanism may need adjustment, etc.
