Default Dampener to Rail Issue.

Guys,
Done this numerous times. Have Dampener cup aligned nicely with Rail ball. Tightened up. Still have a trickle. Been at this for quite a while today. What am I missing ? This is killing me !

Thanks in Advance.

Yes, Stan.
Right on the money. Small irregularity noted on the ball and a similarly situated one noted in the cup.
**** !
I think the 'ball' issue can be made regular. Possibly the cup issue can too. Sorry I can't take pics - my SLR was left in a drizzle by my teenager.
Your opinion would be valued. I know you can't visualize it, but what would be the limiting parameters ?
Thanks.

On second thought, I think the dampener will have to go.

use 400 then 600 then 1000 grit paper to resurface the area dont go hog wild,
do both sides .

Dont super crank the collar nut tight as this will drive the hose into the damper seat and push it open thus making the nut harder to turn,
use some anti seize on all of the fitting areas

Thanks Stan.
The paper in the dampener cup may be challenging. I was thinking of carefully using a Dremel. That was why I had second thoughts on it. Worse comes to worse it doesn't work out. At least worth a try.

Drain off excess fuel, until area is dry. Use a thin layer of Loctite 574 on the surfaces. Tighten, allow to dry.

Drei Bond also works, but less common

Always works. Virtually effortless.

The GT-3/Turbos/Factory Cup cars have these same style fittings at the oil pumps, except they are larger. Virtually impossible to get to seal, without something on the face of the sealing area.

Drei Bond is magical here, because it works great, with oil residue. Loctite 574 likes to be clean and dry.

I have a Fastenal up here that has a lot of Loctite product on the shelf. I had gotten some thread sealant product the other day for the refrigerant side of the fuel cooler union. If they don't have the 574 on the shelf, they can get it in a day. Thanks again.

Worked the scratches out with 320 then 1200 grit. Still with the leak. Will try the Loctite 574.
Unbelievable.

Just make sure the area is CLEAN and DRY.
JB Weld works the same way...It's all in the prep.

Looks like I am going to have to use some sort fastening/bonding agent. Have the dampener cup and the rail ball smooth and unblemished. Lined them up to fit and still with the f'n leak. I'm just wondering why it still leaks. Really is beating me down today.
