Default windshield frame pitted through

Hi, I'm currently restoring my 928 an now I need some advice. While stripping the car, I noticed rust on the windshield channel on the pillar. I wire wheeled it thinking it was just surface rust, but found out it was a bit deeper than that. Sandblasted it, and it was pitted through .

So my question is, how should I fix this? Should I fill it with metal reinforced filler, cut out the rotted section and patched it or replace the entire a pillar which would bit way much work. Here are some pictures.
