Default M28/11, M28/12 Engine for sale

Did someone get their knickers in a twist because they could not follow the Rennlist rules like everyone else has to. Very simple but I guess that is asking too much of Carl.

Or did I miss something 8>)

I am taking my ball and going home and do not want to play with you rough bad guys anymore 8>)

No, I explained that I was TOLD by the moderators a long time ago (Randy V iI think was one) to only post new product announcements, without price, and they requested I post no more than 3 per month.

Then I also answered Merlin that I saw his point - this was a not a new product listing, but just a used part for sale. So I posted prices.

Maybe you can't read. Or help yourself from taking one more kick at the cat.

But while your here Roger, maybe you can explain how Sean's "pay-per-click' post is supposed to work, and what the Hell it has anything to do with a used engine for sale.

I closed the thread because of bull****. I discussed prices after Merlin's post. wanted to talk about a used engine for sale, and it quickly became another Rennlist cluster-f*** and a waste of time.

And Roger - what is YOUR intention here? I mean, why would you start this new thread at all, unless you want to just start an arguement?

You are not talking about a part, not helping a customer with a question, nothing of value.

You just think I made a mistake and wanting to rub it in.

Very mature.

Having fun - but I guess you do not have any sense of humor.
What ever my intention - it worked.
Lighten up will you - you take everything so personally.

Bob Rouleau, Moderator, posted this on the other thread. I brought it over here for your convenience.

Merlin et al,

Sponsors are NOT obliged to post prices. This because some unpleasant folks - usually non-sponsors would take the opportunity to undercut posted prices by a few bucks via PMs. This is stated in the Posting Guidelines. So, please stop derailing this thread with posts about not posting a price.

Thanks,

Advertising by Site Sponsors: In order to promote a commercial entity, you must have a contract with Internet Brands. Only site sponsors may promote their commerce on Rennlist. Site Sponsors will be held to posting according to rules established from time to time by Internet Brands covering the type, size and frequency of ads. In general a maximum of 4 threads per month may be posted. Note that responding to questions by members of a forum is not considered advertising. Threads offering multiple items may be edited to delete items no longer available. Adding items will be considered a new post and count against the 4 per month limit as will "bumping" a thread, i.e., adding a post to increase the visibility of a thread which has fallen off the screen due to inactivity.

Small Business Sponsors are limited to one (1) thread per month.

Unlike Member ads, site sponsors are not obliged to post prices in their ads although they are encouraged to do so.

Since the other thread is closed I will link it

https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...-for-sale.html.

Thanks for the update on the posting guidelines, I stand corrected.

Why would you ever want to post something for sale and not add a price???????????????

Unless you were embarrassed about how expensive it was 8>)

I have no horse in this race (no 16V car needing a motor, for now...) , but if I put myself in Carl's shoes (or any vendor, or RL member, for that matter) and go to the trouble of posting a For Sale thread, the obvious intent is to sell the product for as much as the market will bear. Any other outcome is a waste of everyone's time.

Having watched wayyy more For Sale threads than I should over the past 10 years, it seems to me that regardless of whether you have to post a price (members) or not (vendors), in this community of potential buyers, a 'Make Me an Offer' thread doesn't usually result in a sale. (At least judging by the absence of a confirmation by the seller). And if the asking price is out of line with the 'market', then it doesn't sell (or if it's too low, then it sells too quickly....). Hence the establishment of 'market' pricing.

All of which is to say, if 'Make Me an Offer' worked, Mark Anderson would have four mega- 'MMAO' sale threads every month. He doesn't.

If you are interested in the motor, here is a picture.

I would rather sell it whole than part it out (although I know I would make more money if I sold it in bits). I will let it set a few months, and if it does not sell as a complete engine, I'll start considering requests for parts from it.

I have details of the motor here.
