Mission Complete
Well, the job is as done as it can be. Turns out it is really hard to do any troubleshooting on a car which you forgot to bring the keys for (doh!). No matter, I was at least smart enough to have left it unlocked and managed to drain the fuel from the engine compartment.
Neil--sorry about the mess up on my part. I was fielding 3 other calls when you rang and it became a real chore to manage all that. In any case, I called you back--hopefully we can connect in the future. Lord knows, I'll be back in Asheville sooner or later.
Chris--it's a long painful story about the shop which worked on the car and it would be imprudent for me to air my greivances here. I'll PM you to explain. Suffice to say that once upon a time there were about 5 mechanics in this country whom I would pay to work on my car, one of which was based out of western NC. Now there are 4.
