hmm, not believing the 19000 mile claim. The engine bay looks like it has had more heat cycles than that. Also, if he wants a premium, he should do things like get the missing strap for the airbox (who knows how much crap has found its way thru that area, and it begs the question of poor maintanence) and replace the chin spoiler, which is broken on the driver's side. And no shots of the seats under the covers is a red flag too. From what I am seeing, this is not a low miles premium price worthy car.

The mileage MAY be correct. To me it looks like the 10% of the car's life (that's 3 years out of 30) that it was left outside shredded the luggage cover and affected the engine compartment. The sheepskin covers are probably hiding further sun/heat damage, although the dash, pod and steering wheel look surprisingly fresh. Can't see the rear interior panels.

I believe the mileage may be correct. I've seen plenty of low mileage cars in rough condition. The engine probably hasn't been cleaned in 30 years, which can explain why it looks worse than one would expect for a 19K mile car. The ad seems to indicate that the car spent a few years outside, so I agree with Bill Ball, that the car likely has a lot of sun damage.

I have an '83 US model with 47k original miles at half that price - my listing expired on So Fla's craiglist but I will be renewing it. I don't want to brag, but I know my car is really nice... and I have the photo's to prove it for anyone who is interested...and it runs good too. A couple weeks ago I was running some injector cleaner through it out on US 27 near the everglades and came up on the Gold Wing club - about a dozen of them. Had the cruise on at 90, stayed way left so as not to p*** any of them off, until the lead guy decided he didn't want to be passed. He took off, and I'm thinking he would just run out a ways and then fall back with the fellas...well, when I couldn't see him anymore, there was pretty much only one thing to do, and that was to go get him...I ran it up to 135 on the speedo (at that speed I didn't even have time to glance at the tach) before I caught him. Dropped right back to 90 because I don't need any tickets, let alone one for above 100. A/C on, 135 in So Fla in July, and the coolant temperature comes down! Helluva car...30 f****** years old at 135 and smooth as glass. Had to represent, no?
