Tempted! Never taken a car to the track myself, but have driven a few on tracks and have always been interested. Been looking for years for a 928 5-speed as a street car, and the track functionality would be a bonus and encouragement to do it. Plus, your proximity to me and the fact that you know how to take care of a 928 is a major bonus.

Now if only had a garage for it and have my wife's school loan paid off (hoping in a few months)!

I know you cant wait for me so GLWS!

Same response I put in the Classified Section...

This is an incredible deal from an outstanding individual in the 928, Porsche and I'm sure other communities. Looks to be a VERY well sorted car and could not be duplicated for anywhere near the price. I would jump on this in a heartbeat if funds were available to do so. My lovely wife has even given me the green light for a track/street car, but unfortunately not in the cards right now...

GLWS Gary, someone is going to get a fantastic car!

John V, and Rick - thanks for the comments. It is a bit surprising to me that at this price, this car has not found a new 'street and track' home. It's not long before it will be listed as a street car, with the 'go faster stuff removed!

jwbeck, You are nearby. Why not come take a look at it. Drop me a direct e-mail, and we might work something out if nothing else materializes.

Cheers guys,

PS: RICK - I actually did yell "WAHOO". Maybe your wife didn't hear me, as I'm sure that would have helped here realize there is karma associated with this car that she doesn't want to miss out on - HA. Glad you got to the old stomping grounds for the big Independence Day celebration.

Would love to meet up. This forum is great, but would love to talk within owner and enthusiast in person. Will drop you a line to see if I can stop by when convenient for you.

Dear Gary,

Thank you for making me feel 18 again.

Sincerely,

Jason

While this is my first 928 and my first Porsche, I have been on this forum for quite some time, and and so ecstatic to now have the hardware to prove it! Gary has made this S4 a pristine driving machine on both the open road and chicaned track, and I look forward to experiencing both in it, and a big thank-you to Gary along the way, as his stories were as fun as the sale.

While the 928 held a special place in my heart since I was an early teen, it was the knowledgeable voices, personalities and group support here that enticed me to make the move. I look forward to joining the conversation.

Thank you again, Gary, and I'll take good care of her!

Jason,

The transaction was a pleasure, and as I said to you and several people - you WILL have more smiles per mile with this car doing what you are planning to do than you have ever had before while driving an automobile. I had 7+ years of memories with the car, and it brought me friends and experiences I'd never expected to have. PCA Drivers Ed is a truly great program, and I only wish more 928 owners could find a way to experience the smiles (and occasional adrenaline!).

Best wishes, and hope I may see you at the Glen in October - she (Helga I named her) really likes that track, except for turn 9!

Cheers,

Gary--

Congrats! Too bad I've been away or it might have ended up in Maine!

Congrats on the sale Gary, and Jason on the pick-up. You've got yourself an awesome 928 right there. Now bring it to the Glen in October!

Most definetly! As a 928 owner you have to do Watkins Glen or similar type track at least once and you will really experience what these great cars are really about.
Good to see a great transaction.
Ed
